Commonwealth Games Basketball 3×3 Schedule 2022 – The Commonwealth Games is scheduled from 28th July to 8th August 2022. The Commonwealth games are just a few days away and preparations are in full swing. There will be 19 sporting events and Basketball 3×3 is one of them. Do not confuse it with our regular basketball.
This will be the first appearance for Basketball 3×3 at the Commonwealth Games. Earlier 5×5 version was played in the 2018 Gold Coast games.

Basketball 3×3 at Commonwealth Games
You might think this is a regular basketball game but it’s actually not. With only half a court and just one hoop for both teams to attack and gain possession.
In 3×3 basketball, not just the court is cut into half but also the shot clock is cut in half. Instead of 24 seconds, a 12 seconds shot clock is set. This makes 3×3 basketball full of action.
The teams in 3×3 basketball consists of 3 players and one substitute. The point system in this game is also different.
If the player shoots from inside the arc shaped area, then one point is awarded while shots taken from outside the arc shaped area is awarded two points.
The first team to 21 points wins the game. If no team reaches 21 points after 10 minutes, the team which leads claims the win.
