BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan women’s team captain Bismah Maroof announced on the eve of the opening ceremony that she intends to win gold for the country at the Commonwealth Games.
The leader of Pakistan’s women’s cricket team thanked the opportunity to raise the national flag at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Bismah Maroof said,
“It is a matter of great honour and pride to hold the national flag at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. We are participating in the event for the first time. Our goal is to bring a gold medal to the country”.

Meanwhile, she is also aiming to win a team gold medal at the event, as women’s cricket will be featured in the T20 format for the first time at the Games.
