Manu Bhaker feels India should boycott CWG 2022 – The Indian ace pistol shooter Manu Bhaker feels India should boycott the upcoming Commonwealth Games due to the exclusion of shooting. Manu’s words of revolt came after the shooting event was not included in 2022 and a similar trend is expected to continue in upcoming events.

Manu Bhaker’s statement is also important as India dealt another shock after exclusion of archery and wrestling from 2026 Victoria Commonwealth Games.

Shooting, Archery and Wrestling are three events India has been doing well since the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The exclusion of these events means it hampers India’s chances of medals.

The trio Manu Bhaker, Rhythm Sangwan and Esha Singh won the final at ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl. The trio won against the hosts Germany in 25m pistol event.

Shooting is not included this year. It will probably not be included in the next year’s tournament as well. I think it is wrong to drop the sport. If we want shooting to be included then I think the Indian team should boycott the tournament and this will make a bold statement.

Manu Bhaker feels that India boycotting the games will send a strong message to the world.
